(Wilson, N.C.) – The Wilson Tobs and Asheboro Copperheads played three innings before lightening storms forced the game into cancellation. It's Wilson's second cancelled game of the season.
Asheboro took advantage of an error in the top of the first, scoring Myles Nicholson from second base. Wilson quickly responded in their half of the inning. The Tobs also took advantage in their first, with back-to-back walks issued to start Wilson's offensive night. Michael Calamari brought home both of those walks with a single up the middle. The Tobs lead 2-1 out of the first.
The score held after three innings before the game ran into a rain delay at 8:06 P.M. While the rain subsided, lightening storms made their way into the Wilson area. After one hour and sixteen minutes, the game was cancelled at 9:22 P.M. It will not be made up as the two teams will not meet again in the second half. This is the second cancelled game of the season for Wilson, both of them were against teams from the West division. The Tobs were set to play just three games against the division this season.
