Greg Turnage – President
Greg is the President of TAG Development, a commercial and residential real estate developer and
T&H Electrical Corporation. He is a native of Wilson and a graduate of Bob Jones University,
where he received a degree in accounting. Greg is active in the Wilson community, including
serving as the Chairman of the Board for the Wilson Chamber of Commerce. Greg has three children:
Nikki, Jamie and David.
Mike Edwards – Senior Advisor
Mike is a native of Princeton, N.C., and held front office positions with several minor league baseball clubs, including serving as general manager for the Burlington (N.C.) Indians, Columbus (Ga.) RedStixx, and Lake County (Ohio) Captains. He was honored by the Appalachian League as “Executive of the Year” in 1999 and 2000. Mike is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Science from East Carolina University. He is currently working on his PhD in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management at North Carolina State University. He and his wife, Melissa, reside in Wilson with their daughter, Molly.
Benjamin Jones – General Manager
Benjamin is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina and a graduate East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. Jones graduated from ETSU in December 2005 with a B.S. in Sport and Leisure Management. Jones enters his fifth season in baseball and his second as General Manager of the Tobs. Jones began his career in baseball as an intern for the Johnson City Cardinals in 2004. He returned to work for the Cardinals the following season as the Director of Stadium Operations. In December of 2005 Benjamin stepped into a full time position with Johnson City as the Assistant General Manager. Benjamin resides in Wilson.
Christopher Marmo - Assistant General Manager
Christopher hails from Cranford, New Jersey and is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania in York, P.A. Marmo graduated from YCP in May 2005 with a B.S. in Sport Management and with a concentration in Marketing. Marmo enters his third season in baseball and his second as Assistant General Manager of the Tobs. Marmo began his career in baseball as a Ticket Operations intern for the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club in 2004. In 2005, as part of a credited work experience through YCP, Marmo was also an Event Marketing intern for the Meadowlands Sports Complex's Event Marketing Department. Christopher currently resides in Wilson.
Jeff Steele – Head Coach
Steele, the pitching coach at Lubbock Christian University, returns to Wilson for his fourth season. Steele led Wilson to the Coastal Plain League’s second-half South Division title in 2005 and three consecutive appearances in the Pettit Cup Tournament.
Prior to his time at Lubbock Christian, Steele spent one year as an assistant coach at Chattanooga State Community College where he worked primarily with the pitchers.
As a player, Steele was an All-Conference and All-Region pitcher at Collin County (TX) Community College. Transferring to Oklahoma Baptist University for his junior and senior seasons, Steele was an All-American in 2004 posting a 10-1 record with a 3.14 ERA in 97 innings.
Originally from British Columbia, Canada, Steele holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences with a minor in Administration from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Lubbock Christian University.
Steele is 27, single, and resides in Lubbock, Texas.
