Wilson, NC — The Wilson Tobs have signed Bryce Marrow and Rick Dodridge from Central Michigan University.
Bryce Marrow is a 6’2” 180 pound junior right-handed pitcher. As a sophomore in 2009, Marrow had a 4.10 E.R.A., in 48.1 innings of work with a 2-4 record. Bryce fanned 31 batters and had an opponent batting average of .245. During conference play Marrow was lights out, he had a 1.17 E.R.A. and owned an impressive opponents batting average of .117. Most of Marrow’s work came from the bullpen where he collected one save. He also made four mid-week starts for the Chippewas and performed strong throwing at least seven innings in each start. Bryce will be a key component to the Tobs bullpen this summer and could make some spot starts and compete for the closer role.
“We are excited to have two more great players coming to us form Central Michigan,” said Tobs head coach Jeff Steele. “They have always been great about sending us frontline talent, and we are expecting the same out of Bryce and Rick this summer.”
Rick Dodridge is a 6’5” 215 pound sophomore left-handed pitcher who hails from West Branch, Michigan. As a freshman Dodridge started ten games with a record of 3-4. Rick had an E.R.A. of 6.58 in 53.1 innings of work and struck out 41 batters. In 2008 the Kansas City Royals drafted Rick in the 30th round. Whether it is as a starter or in the bullpen, Dodridge can be a much-needed equalizer from the left side. Hopefully, Dodridge can provide the same spark that fellow teammate and left-handers Trent Howard and Dan Taylor provided for Wilson during the summers of ’06, ’07, and 09’.
The Wilson Tobs are a member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league.
