Wilson, NC — The following does its best to capture some of the most important facts and figures that occurred in the 2009 Wilson Tobs regular season. A season that saw the Tobs win more games than they had won in any season in their 13-year season in the Coastal Plain League:
1973 The last season the Tobs won more than their 2009 season total of 35 games. The Tobs were then members of the Carolina League. That season, the Tobs won 52 times, but lost 88 more games.
1941 The last season the Tobs had a better winning percentage than the 2009 Wilson Tobs. This season, the Tobs put together a 35-21 record, with a winning percentage of .625. The 1941 Tobs went an astonishing 87-30, amassing a winning percentage of .744.
100 The number of Total Bases by Bobby Leeper, ranking second behind only Brandon Scott for a Tobs single-season record.

The Wilson Tobs are a member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its thirteenth season, the Coastal Plain League features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts.
